My friend, I am a survivor of theocratic abuse at the hand of American Fundamentalists. As large as the Catholic Church is - as sweeping as she is, this kind of abuse is happening in Protestantism, too.

Religious organizations, while not inherently bad, tend to attract sociopathy like chum attracts sharks. Especially when the religion is particularly legalistic in it's practice. The abuser can hide their sadism behind church law.

It's devastatingly ironic that an organization so 'pro-life' would be culpable in such a disaster like this but then again look what's happening in America.

There may not be 800 infant remains in a septic tank, but we won't stop mad men with semi-automatic weapons from shooting up schools.
