(Chorus)

Someone give me a sign!

Someone show me how to get out of this place

And I’ll leave no one behind

But I wear a mask so no one can see the mad smile on my face

There’s so many roads home

as there are many roads to Rome

but I’m running low on affection

and I can’t afford to break down here

(Verse One)

The blacktop rolls out in front of me

The engine’s hot and my tires are all dug in

I’m leaving a trail of fears

An ode to this crazy fucked up year

There are mad men storming the halls of congress

A disease being passed around like love notes

People dying by the score

and I’m running low on empathy

(Repeat Chorus)

(Verse Two)

I got my foot mashed down on the gas

I’m roaring endlessly through the night

There’s a mad man with a gun in his mind

and a black man’s running from the fate of his own birthright

Preachers are preaching their love of the holocaust

The gospel narrative is all but lost

It’s so dark beyond this dashboard

and I’m afraid I’ll be lost for good

So, Someone give me a sign

Show me how to get the hell out of this space

and I’ll leave no one behind

But you’ll have to wear a mask to disguise the fear on your face

There’s so many roads home

back to a place where love belongs

but I’m running low on affection

and we can’t afford to break down here

We’re running low on affection

and we can’t afford to break down here
