You know it’s funny, I’ve read the article and then through the responses to the article and it’s easy to pick out those who didn’t read the former. She wasn’t talking to queer people, she was talking to straight (non-queer) women.

She didn’t commit Bi-erasure. She reinforced Bisexual people and others on the spectrum to write and pointed out the privilege of heterosexual, white, women who write books that depict homosexual relationships through the lens of heterosexuality.

Has this been discussed and ‘kicked to death’? Sure.

Some would say that about race. Some would say that about gender equality. Do you know why we’re still talking about it? Because it hasn’t been resolved. SCreaming and slamming doors on a conversation doesn’t end it. It doesn’t mean you’ve won. The argument will come up again, and again.

I’m just thankful that it was a queer woman this time who spoke up.

This genre has an irony that can’t be dismissed.
